Tea Biscuits

- Cookie sheet
- Cookie Cutters (optional)
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup butter, frozen + grated
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Sift together flour, white sugar, salt, baking powder, and cream of tartar
- Grate in frozen butter and mix with a pastry cutter or knife or fork (or your hands) until crumbly
- Add milk and quickly combine
- On a lightly floured surface, knead bread gently (only to shape – max. knead 10 times)
- Roll slightly to reach desired thickness
- Cut with cookie cutter and place on lightly greased cookie sheet
- Brush milk on top for better browning
- Bake at 450 degrees F for 12 to 14 minutes
