Savoury Stovetop Popcorn
Making popcorn at home is a healthy and inexpensive way to snack and this recipe packs a lot of punch in the flavour department!
Ingredients
Popcorn
- 1/3 cup Corn kernels
- 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil OR Avacado oil If you don't have either of these oils, you can use Canola oil
House Seasoning
- 2 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Oregano, dried
- 1 tbsp Basil, dried
- 2 tsp Thyme, dried
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Black pepper
Basic Toppings
- 1 tbsp Butter, melted
- 1 pinch Salt or to taste
Instructions
- In a heavy bottom, medium to large size saucepan add oil and kernels
- Cover the pan leaving lid slightly ajar over medium-high heat
- Once popcorn begins popping, cover lid tightly and allow to pop
- Melt butter in the microwave either during popping or immediately afterward
- When popping has slowed down, remove the saucepan from the stovetop and add melted butter, salt and houseblend of spices
- Pour popcorn into individual bowls or a large bowl for sharing
